Wordpress Breadcrumbs
On a recent development project I had the task of creating a breadcrumb trail in which I needed to eliminate the part of the trail that linked to the category archive for the post. I wanted those archive links disabled for the site because I had created custom page listings. So not only did I need a breadcrumb plugin, but also a way to remove the category archive link from the trail. The solution is simple, and requires the tag-team combination of the following two plugins:
Yoast Breadcrumbs
Category Base Removal Plugin
Yoast sets up your breadcrumb trail. Then by activating CBRP, what was the /category/something link in your trail simply becomes /something - making it easy to link through to a page (rather than category archive) in your trail.
