Closing Frequently Asked Questions
- We're Partnering With GreenGeeks for Web Hosting
I will be closing up the web hosting side of my business Jan 31st, 2013. Since having kids, moving to Seattle, and teaching and working at the University of Washington, my responsibilities and priorities have changed - so it is time to move on for me.
GreenGeeks.com is a company with a similar ethos and customer orientation to Sustainable Websites. They will migrate all customers to a new server after you sign up for web hosting on their site. The cost of the hosting will be discounted, and the quality of support and service will improve.
I’m happy to make this transition and will do my best to ensure it goes smoothly for you.
You must sign up with GreenGeeks with your payment info - I cannot transfer your payment details to them because it is encrypted and only you have access.

I recommend that you sign up for the yearly package, which is $65.40 for the year (with the discount coupon below). This will also get you free website migration and free domain transfer & renewal for the life of the account.
Use the coupon code SUSTAINABLEWEBSITES to get an additional $30 discount on your web hosting with GreenGeeks.
GreenGeeks system admins have already determined that our web hosting systems are similar enough to make it easy to host your sites. We will contact you with more details about any steps necessary for you.
It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost ten years since I started this business! I’m so grateful for the support of friends, family, friends of friends, business partners, customers and supporters around the world for making Sustainable Websites the best little hosting company. GreenGeeks will help you take all of your sites to the next level - you will be in good hands and at another green web host.
I look forward to staying in touch. I mean that sincerely - please sign up for my sustainable marketing email list and I’ll let you know if I am running a course or starting another company. If you tweet, I am @sustainableweb (around monthly) and @ivanoats (about daily).
